We visited SW/AC a consultation project linking welfare and the arts on 24th May!

SW/AC (Social Work/Art Conference), a general incorporated association, provides consultation services to link welfare and art, a 10-minute walk from the Hachijo Exit of Kyoto Station.

SW/AC has in the past connected "the Mirai no Mori i-art" to "the UMLAB" and has provided advice on the UMLAB project.
UMLAB members visited the SW/AC space and interacted with the staff. One member commented, ‘It was a pleasure to engage with the SW/AC people,’ and this was a motivating experience for the UMLAB members!

We were able to learn about what SW/AC staff members are doing in their activities. We were also able to talk about the problems that our members are facing in their art activities. It was the first time for UMLAB to have an exchange outside the company, but I am glad that everyone enjoyed the event.

After the dialogue, we were introduced to SW/AC's garden and exhibition rooms. Members and staff enjoying the atmosphere of the white cube. We hoped to be able to exhibit in such a professional gallery in the future... and our dreams grew.
