Digital art by Junpei Sasaki of "Umu Labo"

"A working environment for those who want to work but can't." With that idea in mind,
ALBUM is a Type A business that supports continued employment in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City.
The business operates an EC shop and also works on design and video production.
In June 2024, a new art business called "Umu Labo" was launched.
The cover art for this issue is a work by Junpei Sasaki, founder of "Umu Labo."
After graduating from art school, Sasaki was working as a freelance video artist,
when he developed depression. After being hospitalized and attending day care,
he returned to regular employment as an employee of "ALBUM" after attending a Type A business.
By being in various places and interacting with people,
he realized that "from a macro perspective,
people can be divided into able-bodied and disabled.
But from a micro perspective, there are people who find it difficult to live on both sides,
and I think that these things are fluctuating."
In "cosmoss," he deliberately depicts perspective in a fragmented way,
such as a bird's-eye view of a coniferous forest or a close-up of moss,
to express this fluctuating nature.
In the art project "Umu Lab," we introduce the artist's background and thoughts along with the work,
and aim to bring out originality as an art project that can only be done by members of "ALBUM."
Apparently, there are people who have not been suited to work within "ALBUM" until now,
but have found a place for themselves in "Umu Lab." I felt the potential of art.
